Next month, Makerere University will welcome its first-year students, commonly known as freshers, after the release of admission lists.
As part of the university's tradition, freshers are given a one-week period called the "Orientation Week" to acclimate themselves to university life.
This means that freshers will arrive on campus one week prior to the continuing students. During this week, they will be introduced to the key facilities and important aspects of life at the university.

The Orientation Week provides freshers with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the campus layout. It is encouraged for them to explore and get to know the various locations on campus.
Additionally, one of the main activities during the Orientation Week is the registration process.
Makerere University emphasizes that all freshers must register centrally and then with their respective Colleges, Schools, Departments, or Halls. This ensures that their enrollment is properly recorded and they can access the necessary academic resources.
